Research & Consultancy

Beyond the black
letter of law

Research and Consultancy at NAS Law Chambers is defined by a critical understanding of law. While the litigation arm of NAS looks into the black letter of law, the research arm goes beyond and into the grey areas - where law is shaped, favoured, influenced, diluted or even made draconian. An interdisciplinary understanding of how law shapes public opinion and is defined by public reason is the point of focus here. The identity of marginalized communities at the crossroads of law, religion, culture and politics is what grounds research and consultancy at NAS Law Chambers.

Ethics & Accountability
Managing Trustees Panel

To ensure institutional accountability and ethical governance, NAS Law Chambers is guided by a Managing Trustees Panel. Comprising three senior, independent individuals drawn from law, academia, and civil society, this supervisory body provides strategic oversight, reviews institutional policies, and acts as a moral safeguard—preserving the independence and credibility of the firm without interfering in day-to-day professional judgments.

Financial Governance

We maintain rigorous financial protocols and audit mechanisms. The firm receives funding through professional fees, Zakat, Sadaqah, voluntary donations, and 3rd party litigation (adhering strictly to established rules).

  • Zakat compliance: Zakat funds are maintained separately and never mixed with operational funds, utilized strictly for eligible beneficiaries.
  • Independence: No funding source influences the independent professional judgment of our advocates.
NAS Law Chambers is actively representing minority causes in the Supreme Court of India, Delhi High Court, and Calcutta High Court — and regularly files RTIs in matters of public interest.
